Trainee Positions
There are a number of training positions in Victoria that are not currently recruited via this website/process.
Please direct queries to individual Departments if you are interested to work for them. We have listed some of these here to assist trainees to find appropriate positions, but this list is not exhaustive / complete, and is not maintained from year to year.
Additional Positions / Sites performing direct recruitment:
- Paediatric ED positions are recruited directly by some departments for ACEM trainees, and only a limited number of roles are placed into the match
- PICU and Retrieval roles are recruited directly by Royal Children's Hospital and Monash Health
- Most Subspecialty fellow/registrar positions (e.g. Cardiology, Gastroenterology, etc) at Royal Children's Hospital and Monash Children's Hospital are advertised and recruited separately. More of these roles are coming into the central process each year - so please check the Jobs List on the application portal (you can search by a key-word at the top of the job list page). Positions added for 2025 recruitment include:
- RCH Infectious Diseases Fellow
- RCH Rheumatology Fellow
- RCH Rehabilitation Fellow
- RCH Pharmacology Fellow
- VFPMS Fellow
- VAHS Fellow
- WADJA Fellow
- Most NICU's currently recruit their senior roles (Fellows) directly - this recruitment occurs prior to the VPAT process commencing - although Monash NICU does recruit limited Fellow positions within the VPAT site.
