Trainee Position

  • 1 x Advanced Trainee Registrar (6 or 12 months)
    • Full-time or part-time considered.
    • Accredited for Community training (6 months) and non core Gen Paeds advanced training - Rural/Regional
  • Option to do 6 months Echuca community combined with 6 months Bendigo Health General Paediatrics

Trainee Level

  • Preferably Advanced Trainee (post FRACP exams)
    • Continuing Basic Trainee will be considered if 6 months neonatal term completed

Roster and on-call

  • Monday to Friday (part-time days negotiable)
  • On call one night per week and 1:4 weekends

  • Inpatient referrals as part of specialist team
  • Level 2 SCN

Junior Staff

  • 1 Paediatric/Obstetric HMO
  • 1 Registrar

Senior Staff

  • 1 x 0.8 EFT Paediatrician
  • GP VMO's

Clinics 

  • General Paediatric / Developmental clinics - 3 per week
  • Outreach Aboriginal Health service clinic - fortnightly

Education and Teaching

  • Weekly Unit Education
  • Weekly Centre for Community Child Health Seminar Series
  • Local and regional maternity and perinatal M&M
  • Radiology meetings

    Echuca Regional Health provides acute, maternity, paediatric, rehabilitation, aged care, primary care, and community health services.  The paediatric team takes inpatient referrals and provides outpatient services, with close links to the allied health team.  This role meets rural requirements for advanced training and gives the candidate an opportunity to experience regional paediatrics, including outreach clinics at Njernda to work with the local indigenous community.
