The Victorian Forensic Paediatric Medical Service (VFPMS) provides trainees with an eye-opening, challenging and rewarding opportunity to learn about vulnerability, child abuse, and neglect.  Trainees learn how to interact with families and stakeholders, examine children searching for signs of injury, determine cause and timing of injury, collect samples from sexual assault victims, provide forensic opinions in case conferences, produce medicolegal reports and testify in court. Trainees rapidly become valued, skilled members of the highly supportive VFPMS team.
