- Outside of active-monitoring times - please contact individual sites directly
Neonatology
- A recent change has been made to the title for roles within the NICU's in Victoria. This change reflects the two-tiers of training roles within the units.
- Neonatal medical officers (NeoMedOfficer) is the combined title for positions at registrar or senior resident medical officer level, as these roles all work within the one roster. These roles are suitable for General Paediatric advanced trainees, Neonatal advanced trainees (usually in their 1st year of advanced training), Continuing paediatric basic trainees, international medical graduates in their first year of Australian hospital tertiary neonatal experience, unaccredited registrars, and senior resident medical officers. Please check with the individual units regarding the pay and conditions at their unit to ensure it meets your needs.
- Neonatal Fellows / Senior Registrars roles are suitable for advanced trainees working towards Fellowship in Neonatology with the RACP. A minimum of 12 months tertiary neonatal experience is required. These roles have additional responsibilities and some independence in procedural skills, ability to supervise more junior medical staff, and contribution to education and research are all vital to success in these roles. Most Fellow roles are not currently recruited via VPAT, but Monash NICU will have a limited number of Fellow positions listed on this site.
