Trainee Positions
12 Registrar positions (including Senior Registrar roles, Advanced Training roles, and 3 Consortium Basic Training roles)
- 6 month or 12 month rotations in General Paediatrics with Perinatal Medicine
- If you have put down 6 months as a preference, but are willing to do 12 months, then please preference both of these options in your preference list; OR clearly state it in your cover letter
- Year combination positions available with 6 month rotations in each role (which will be offered in either order at discretion of the allocations committee)
- Werribee General Paediatrics / Mercy Hospital for Women NICU
- Werribee General Paediatrics / Werribee Community Paediatrics
- Senior / Chief Registrar role
- Appropriate for an AT 2/3, or for Peer Review top-up training
- Additional responsibilities include educational and supervision opportunities, as well as quality improvement portfolios
- Part time positions and job-sharing will be considered - your preference for this must be clearly stated in your cover letter.
- If you wish to be considered for the chief registrar or a senior registrar role, please state this in your cover letter
Trainee Level
- Preferably Paediatric Advanced Trainee (post FRACP exams)
- Will also consider PEM Trainees, International Medical Graduates, Unaccredited Registrars, and Continuing Basic Trainees

- General Paediatric Registrars - 12 registrar rotating roster
- Includes: Paediatric Ward, Special Care Nursery, Hospital in the Home, Birth Suite and Outpatients
- Community Registrars
- 3 x all-day developmental/behavioural multidisciplinary clinics at school-based community hubs
- Paediatric telehealth
- Paediatric intake clinic
Wards
- Paediatric Ward: 12 paediatric beds flexing up to 16
- Special Care Nursery: 16 bed level 4 SCN (4,000 deliveries per year)
- Busy expanding Emergency Department and new Paediatric emergency planned for 2026
- Hospital in the Home: 15 bed Paediatric and Neonatal HITH service
Junior Staff
- 12 Registrars
- 10 Residents
- 2 Interns
Senior Staff
- 19 senior medical staff with 2 on-site during business hours. On-call consultant support after 5pm.
Clinics
- All outpatients have direct consultant supervision and clinic preparation time included in rostering
- Weekly clinics

Education and Teaching
- Weekly protected 5 hour, phone-free registrar teaching including:
- Case presentations
- Journal clubs
- Visiting speakers
- Morbidity and Mortality / Quality Improvement meetings
- Radiology meetings
- Simulation sessions
- Medical student and resident teaching
